The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center is America’s premier repertory company for chamber music, committed to bringing audiences the finest performances of the wide-ranging chamber repertoire. For this remarkable program of piano quartets, the ensemble pairs masterpieces of the quartet literature by Brahms and Schumann with the rarely performed Mahler Piano Quartet, the composer’s only surviving instrumental chamber work, written when he was still a teenager.
