The show received it's world premiere performance at Theatre Out in 2007 and became an immediate audience favorite. Since that time, the show has been presented annually to rave reviews.

Val Kilmer, famous for his portrayals of iconic characters such as Jim Morrison (The Doors), Doc Holliday (Tombstone) and Batman (Batman Forever), inhabits the spirit of yet another legendary figure: Mark Twain. "We are thrilled to bring this extraordinary production to our audiences in Laguna Beach," offers Wood. Wareham adds, "Val Kilmer brings to remarkable life one of the greatest legends of all time and we are honored to have him here." California State University, Fullerton's Department of Theatre and Dance delivers holiday fun with the cheery A Christmas Carolsatire, Inspecting Carol, by Daniel Sullivan in the Young Theatre of the Clayes Performing Arts Center from November 22-December 15, 2013. Directed by College of the Arts Dean Joseph Arnold, this crowd-pleasing alternative to endless Christmas Carol productions was inspired by a real life incident of a theatre director who tried to bribe an inspector of the National Endowment for the Arts. Author Daniel Sullivan built a plot around this idea while combining it with a small theatre's struggle to produce Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol. A case of mistaken identity wrapped up in bundle of laughs, Inspecting Carol delivers a uniquely modern version of A Christmas Carol.

On the evening of October 11, Peters made an exquisite concert return to the OC accompanied by an incredible mini-orchestra helmed by longtime musical director Marvin Laird, which kicked off Segertrom Center for the Arts' 2013-2014 Cabaret series. As somewhat expected, the concert was a beautifully executed affair, providing the audience with several reasons to be awed.

A new exhibition traces the history of South Coast Repertory, Orange County's Tony Award-winning theatre. The display is on view Oct. 12-20 at South Coast Plaza, during the mall's regular business hours. The display, in the Jewel Court rotunda (by Macy's), includes cut-out characters in costumes from past productions and large color panels that tell the story of SCR through photos and text.

The venerable nine-time Grammy Award-winning Emerson String Quartet performs at Segerstrom Center for the Arts on January 10 as part of its popular yearly visit to Orange County. Center chamber music fans will experience a new chapter as the enduring ensemble welcomes cellist Paul Watkins, who took the place of David Finckel in May 2013. The musicians of the Emerson String Quartet are Eugene Drucker, violin; Philip Setzer, violin; Lawrence Dutton, viola and Paul Watkins, cello. The evening's program will include Beethoven's rousing "Razumovsky" Quartets, Op. 59, No. 1-3.
