Dating. Mating. Love. Marriage. Those are just a few of the topics comically explored in the Off-Broadway smash hit musical I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change! that runs April 16 - May 16, 2010, at the Costa Mesa Playhouse, 661 Hamilton Street in Costa Mesa.
This musical comedy that delves into the often-wacky world of dating and relationships ran for 12 years Off-Broadway and logged more than 5,000 performances. I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change! is the second longest-running musical in Off-Broadway history (second only to The Fantasticks), and has been produced in more than 400 cities around the world. "I think the reason this show is so popular, and that it ran for so long Off-Broadway, is that it explores themes that almost anyone can relate to, and it does so in a very funny manner," says director David A. Blair. "The songs are very catchy, and they all tell a story while illuminating easily identifiable characters and situations. Our audiences are really going to enjoy this musical." In I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change!, four actors (two men and two women) portray a variety of characters, from young adults to senior citizens and everything in between, all looking for love and finding it in unusual and often hysterical ways. Songs such as "He Called Me," "Cantata for a First Date," I Will Be Loved Tonight," and the title song illuminate the many hilarious nuances, follies and challenges of relating to the opposite sex. This laugh-out-loud musical pays tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face at the portal of romance, and to those who have dared to ask, "So...what are you doing Saturday night?"Information
