Drawing from a broad range of local talent, The Wilton Playshop will present Wall Street The Musical, an original production written by Charles Veley, Esq., on Friday, October 1st at 8pm, and Saturday, October 2nd at 7:30 pm.

The show is a joint production of the Wilton Playshop and Troupers Light Opera, Inc., of Darien. Its award-winning script centers on the story of a music conductor, who inherits his uncle's multi-million dollar investment company only to find out that his dream-come-true holds some hidden surprises. Charles Veley, Esq., a former Wilton resident, is the writer and lyricist. The Director is Marjorie (Jorie) Janeway and Eric Peterson is the Musical Director.

Veley began the process of writing Wall Streetnearly five-years ago after he and his wife happened to see a Gilbert & Sullivan matinee. While still inspired by Sullivan's lyrics, the dot-com market crash occurred at this time, suggesting the Wall Street motif to Veley.

Wall Street was recently named the winner of Academy for New Musical Theater's Search for New Musicals.

The show is the first new official offering of X-Playshop, an extension of The Wilton Playshop's traditional Theater Productions into new forms of entertainment, original plays and theatrical experiences. The Saturday evening performance will conclude with a question and answer session and reception with Charles Veley.
