Westport's MTC School of Performing Arts Summer Camps Presents 'FIDDLER', FOOTLOOSE and More

Over the past 25 years, Westport's Music Theatre of Connecticut School of Performing Arts, has trained more than 10,000 students and produced over 150 student shows. MTC is currently registering for three summer theatre programs from now through August. From first read-through of the script to opening night in just three weeks, students ages seven and older will participate in in a fully staged and costumed musical production performed for the public at the end of each session.

"Fiddler on the Roof" runs today, June 25 through July 4. Set in the little Russian village of Anatevka, a poor dairyman tries to teach his five daughters the traditions of his tight-knit Jewish community in the face of changing social mores. Songs "Tradition," "Matchmaker," "If I Were A Rich Man" and "Sunrise, Sunset."

"Footloose" runs July 16 through August 4. One of the most popular movie musicals in recent memory bursts onto the live stage to the rockin' rhythm of its top-40 score. Musical numbers include "Let's Hear it For the Boy," "Almost Paradise" and the title song.

MTC's original musical version of "Winnie the Pooh" runs July 30 through August 18. Based on A. A. Milne's classic story of the lovable bear and his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood comes to life as a fast-paced musical perfect for the whole family.
