The students of the Summer Musical Theater Intensive at Broadway Method Academy in Fairfield, CT had the amazing opportunity to work with Tony Award Winner, Kelli O'Hara (Light in the Piazza, South Pacific, King & I). The Tony Winner shared stories of her theatrical journey and spoke of the importance of capitalizing on uniqueness. Students had the chance to ask O'Hara questions about life and the business, and a few were able to sing for the Tony winner. Students were extremely grateful to take part in such a special experience.

Throughout the three-week intensive, students had the opportunity to train in acting, singing and dancing under the direction of Erika Henningsen (Les Miserables, Showboat), Stephen Hanna (Hello Dolly!, NYC Ballet), Katie Wesler (Pippin), Danny Gardner (Dames at Sea) and Lauren Sprague (Cinderella). The non-profit organization which focuses on preparing students for a total understanding of musical theater also brought in faculty members from one of the nation's top musical theater collegiate programs, University of Cincinnati; CCM. Aubrey Berg (Musical Theater Chair of CCM) said, "the level of talent among the students is very high and the instruction by working professionals is rigorous. It is a winning combination - and it makes Broadway Method Academy an excellent choice for young artists. I thoroughly enjoy my residence at BMA every summer."

The academy, which prides itself in first-rate pre-college musical theater training, offers a variety of courses throughout the year, in addition to fully staged musicals. This summer, the academy will produce the blockbuster hit musical, Legally Blonde under the direction of Broadway actors Julius Anthony Rubio (Wonderland, Finding Neverland, On Your Feet) and Allysa Shorte (After Midnight).
