TheatreWorks' Stage 2 Teen Workshop Footloose Begins Monday June 27
TheatreWorks New Milford Stage 2 Workshop/Rehearsals will begin on Monday June 27 at 5 Brookside Avenue, New Milford, CT and continue each weekday from 1:00 - 4:00pm until July 29. Performances will be held Friday July 29 and Saturday July 30 at 8:00pm and Sunday July 31 at 2:00pm and tickets are $15. Please note: The fee to participate in this workshop is $390.
The TheatreWorks Stage 2 program, specially designed for teens (entering grades 9-12 in September), focuses on the craft of acting, along with lessons throughout the process of mounting a production, vocal skills and basic choreography. Perhaps most importantly, the program inspires creativity, confidence and a sense of community through the exploration and practice of theatre skills. The program is under the direction of Beth Bonnabeau.
FOOTLOOSE explodes onto the stage with classic 80s anthems including Holding Out For A Hero, Almost Paradise, Let's Hear It for the Boy, and of course the title track, Footloose. Life in small-town Bomont is peaceful until City Boy, Ren, arrives. Breaking every taboo, Ren brings dance back to the hear of a town held back by the memory of a tragedy. Based on the hit 80's movie, FOOTLOOSE has become a stage musical phenomenon.
