The Wizard of Oz Live at The Bushnell

Over the weekend, The Wizard of Oz delighted the audience at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford, Connecticut. Stemmed from the classic 1939 film, the musical, by L. Frank Baum, was full of well-known numbers, stunning scenic design, and characters that stole your hearts.

While many children were in the audience (some dressed as Dorothy herself), this was a show for all ages, reminiscing a simpler time of magic and discovery. Everything from the famous twister scene to the glistening gates of Emerald City made the crowd marvel thanks to impressive special effects.

Dorothy Gale played by Kalie Kaimann gave a stellar performance and sang her heart out during the powerful and popular "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," while her new friends, Scarecrow (Chris Duir), Tinman (Christopher Russell), and the Lion (Victor Legarreta) all helped make the show funny, touching, and a pleasure to watch. And let's not forget Toto (Murphy), the most well-trained dog you'll ever see on stage.
