The Ridgefield Theater Barn Holds Auditions For GODSPELL 8/30, 8/31

By:

The Ridgefield Theater Barn is holding open auditions for: Godspell, Book by John-Michael Tebelak, Music and New Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz

Directed by Rick Hodder, Musical Direction by Thomas J. Cufarri, Choreography and Produced by Craig David Rosen

Sunday August 30th and Monday August 31st from 7:30-9:30 PM
at the Ridgefield Theater Barn, 37 Halpin Lane, Ridgefield, CT.

Please prepare 16 bars of an uptempo Broadway show tune and be prepared to dance. Also be prepared for some improv games.

Rehearsals will be held evenings and some weekends from mid September until opening night.
Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 8PM, November 13th-December 12th.
Sunday Matinees at 2PM on November 22th, 29th and December 6th.

Based on The Gospel according to St. Matthew, this musical has enduring popularity as a contemporary adaptation of the life of Christ and his disciples, filling the stage with joyous music and hit songs such as Day by Day, Prepare Ye, All for the Best,
O Bless the Lord and We Beseech Thee.

We are looking for energetic, positive, humorous people, as comfortable with a personal spotlight as being supportive in a group. Teamwork, improvisation and a good sense of comedic timing are real assets to the show, as is stamina: the entire cast of Godspell is on stage for the entire show! The director of the show (Rick Hodder) is also the director of RTB's in-house improv comedy troupe, so expect to learn improv techniques and use them to develop the staging of the parables. Although the script calls for 5 men and 5 women, we are open to departing from this. Also, we are not against considering casting Jesus or John as women if we feel there is a good fit.
