Members of the Freshman Vocal Class perform songs and arias at the Freshman Vocal Recitals on Friday, September 10, at 8:00 PM, and Saturday, September 11, at 3:00 PM, in Berkman Recital Hall, University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford. Vocalists are accompanied by Hartt faculty member Doris Lang Kosloff, piano. Admission is free. Seating is limited.

Members of the Junior Vocal Class perform songs and arias at the Junior Vocal Recital, on Friday, November 12, at 8:00 PM, in Berkman Recital Hall, University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford. Vocalists are accompanied by Hartt faculty member Doris Lang Kosloff, piano. Admission is free. Seating is limited.

The Fall Choral Concert features Hartt's four choral ensembles, led by Edward Bolkovac, Colin Britt, Gabriel Löfvall, and Stuart Younse. The program features American and Hungarian choral works by Bárdos, Barber, Bartók, Ben-Haim, Britt, Copland, Kodály, Lauridsen, Thompson, Voth, and Whitacre, as well as rousing spirituals and American folksong settings. This concert is on Friday, November 19, at 7:30 PM, at the Immanuel Congregational Church, 360 Farmington Avenue (corner of Farmington and Woodland Avenues), Hartford.

Hartt's annual charity benefit, Sing for the City, takes place on Sunday, December 5, at 3:00 PM, at the St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 285 Church Street, Hartford. The Hartt choruses, singers from St. Patrick-St. Anthony, and guest choirs present a holiday fundraising concert for Catherine's House, a program providing housing, food, and support to homeless women in recovery. The concert features joyous holiday favorites and a rousing audience sing-a-long. Come ring in the holidays and know you are helping to raise money for a wonderful organization in Hartford!

Undergraduate vocal students present scenes from Iolanthe and Carmen as this year's Undergraduate Black Box Opera performance on Thursday, December 2, at 7:30 PM, in Millard Auditorium, University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford. Admission is free.

The Vocal Studies Division presents Humperdinck's beloved opera Hansel & Gretel Thursday, February 3, through Saturday, February 5, at 7:30 PM, and Sunday, February 6, at 3:00 PM, in Millard Auditorium, University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford. This undergraduate main stage opera tells the well-known Grimm's fairy tale of a poor broom-maker's son and daughter who become lost in the woods, get captured by an evil witch, and use their wits to escape. Set to the lilting melodies and lush orchestration of famous turn-of-the-century composer E. Humperdinck, this production is sure to delight! Admission is $20 with discounts for seniors, students, and groups.

Hartt's annual Collage Concert features two acts filled with continuous music, dance, and theatre. Hartt's gift to the community, Collage takes place on Friday, February 18, and Saturday, February 19, at 7:30 PM, in Lincoln Theater, University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford. Admission is free, but tickets are required.

The Spring Choral Concert takes place on Sunday, March 6, at 4:30 PM, at St. James Episcopal Church, 19 Walden Street (corner of Walden and Farmington Avenues), West Hartford. This concert features Hartt's choral ensembles performing 16th century madrigals and motets, lute songs, and Baroque arias performed by the talented undergraduate vocal performance majors, as well as a preview of selections by the Hartt Touring Choir that will be traveling to Austria and Hungary in May.

Members of the Graduate Vocal Seminar present a Graduate Seminar Recital on Friday, April 29, at 8:00 PM, in Berkman Auditorium, University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford. Admission is free. Seating is limited.

The Hartt Symphony Orchestra and Choruses join the New Haven Chorale and the Connecticut Children's Chorus for a gala concert of awe-inspiring musical masterpieces and readings that vividly portray man's spiritual journey entitled Journey of the Soul on Saturday, April 30 at 5:00 PM, in Woolsey Hall, Yale University, New Haven. (Please note this concert date has changed from the original announcement.) The concert opens with Edward Bolkovac leading Brahms' beloved Schicksalslied, continues with Stravinsky's energetic Symphony of Psalms under the baton of Maestro Edward Cumming, and concludes with Urlicht and the Finale of Mahler's monumental Symphony No. 2 Resurrection led by Maestro Bolkovac. A second performance takes place on Sunday, May 1, at 4:30 PM, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Hartford. Admission details also will be announced at that time.
