The Hartt School Presents Hartt Dances

The Hartt School presents Hartt Dances from Friday, May 1 through Sunday, May 3 at Lincoln Theater on the University of Hartford's West Hartford campus. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. The exciting Hartt Dance program for spring 2009 includes Napoli variations, choreographed by August Bournonville and restaged by Hilda Morales; the internationally acclaimed ballet Flames of Paris choreographed by Alla Nikitina; and Ink Passion choreographed by Lorelei Chang. The highlight of the program will be Act Two of Giselle after Marius Petipa, restaged by Hilda Morales. Admission is $20 with discounts for seniors, students, and groups. The Hartt School presents Big Love from Thursday, May 7, through Sunday, May 10, in the Kent McCray Theater at the Mort and Irma Handel Performing Arts Center, 35 Westbourne Parkway in Hartford. Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. In Big Love, Charles L. Mee spins a zany retelling of the oldest play in western drama, Aeschylus' Suppliant Women, which is the story of fifty brides who flee fifty grooms to escape forced marriage.
