By:
For the final production of its popular Summertime Saturday Puppet Shows for family audiences by UConn Puppet Arts students, the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry at the University of Connecticut will present Superheroes, Villains, and Spaceships, Oh My!-The Return by UConn Puppet Arts MFA students Anatar Marmol-Gagné and Zach Broome on Saturday, August 6 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., at the Ballard Institute Theater located at 1 Royce Circle, Storrs, CT.

Do you think you know everything there is about superheroes? Think again! Many moons ago Anatar and Zach set out to find all the Superheroes and Villains across the world. They have finally returned and are here to tell you their tale in Superhereos, Villains, and Spaceships, Oh My!-The Return.

Anatar Marmol-Gagné is originally from Caracas, Venezuela. She is an MFA candidate in the Puppet Arts Program at the University of Connecticut and has as a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Creative Writing from Hunter College. As a puppeteer, Anatar has trained at the National Puppetry Conference at the O'Neill Theater Center, taught children's puppet workshops, performed in puppet slams and festivals, and founded and curates the Pinned & Sewtured Puppet Slam in New Haven, CT. Anatar created The Superhero Within as her Master of Fine Arts project in the UConn Puppet Arts Program.

Originally from Macon, Georgia, Zach Broome studied art and theater at Mercer University and graduated summa cum laude in 2005. For the past decade, Zach has worked as a scenic designer and technical director of theater. His set designs have appeared in a number of theaters in the state of Georgia. Zach is currently pursuing an MFA degree in the UConn Puppet Arts Program.
