This critically acclaimed concert experience is coming to The Ridgefield Playhouse to tell the story of folk-rock legends, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. With cutting-edge lighting, projections and a live band, relive the '60s and the distinctive "spine-tingling harmonies" (The Daily Record) of these Rock and Roll Hall-of-Famers on such iconic hits as "Mrs. Robinson," "Bridge Over Troubled Water," "The Boxer," "Scarborough Fair," "The Sound of Silence" and "Homeward Bound." If you want to relive the music that moved a generation, don't miss this nostalgic performance where all is groovy! Direct from its success in London's West End, a SOLD OUT UK tour and standing ovations at every performance, The Simon & Garfunkel Story comes to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Tuesday, September 19 at 8 p.m. as part of the Pepsi Rock Series Powered by xfinity. This critically acclaimed concert-style theatre show tells the fascinating tale of how two young boys from Queens, New York went on to become the world's most successful music duo of all time. Using state-of-the-art video projection, incredible lighting and a full band, The Simon & Garfunkel Story is a moving and powerful concert. Starting from their humble beginnings as 50's Rock n Roll duo 'Tom & Jerry', the show takes you through all the songs and stories that shaped them, the dramatic split, their individual solo careers and ending with a stunning recreation of the legendary 1981 Central Park reunion concert. Make it a great night out with dinner and a show - visit Ancient Mariner (451 Main Street, Ridgefield) for dinner the night of the show and enjoy a complimentary glass of house wine or draft beer with the purchase of an entree with your ticket! Simon and Garfunkel are featured artists of media sponsor 95.9fm The Fox.

This highly-authentic musical tribute also gives a context to the songs by linking their lives and artistic development to wider political events of the time. Using a mixture of narrative and photographs projected onto the back drop of the stage, the show then follows Simon and Garfunkel's musical and personal progression through the Greenwich Village folk scene of the early 60s; Paul Simon's solo voyage to Britain where he toured and penned classic numbers like Kathy's Song and Homeward Bound; the upheaval and struggles of the American Civil Rights Movement; some experimental songs forged in the 1967 Summer of Love; and the recording of Mrs Robinson, - their well-known contribution to the film, The Graduate- which brought them worldwide fame.

For tickets ($50), call the box office at 203-438-5795, or visit ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a non-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
