It's an afternoon of family fun with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs! Children are encouraged to come in costume and "trick-or-treat" when The Ridgefield Playhouse and Ridgefield Academy Family Series presents Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs on Saturday, October 28 at 11am and 2pm. Follow along as Snow White meets her pint-sized friends, takes the apple from the Evil Queen, receives a kiss from the prince and lives happily ever after. Children can meet Snow White in the lobby after the show. This faithful rendition of the fairy tale will inspire young audiences to read the original. The event is partially underwritten by Books on the Common with support from Ridgefield Library (both on Main Street, Ridgefield) and will have books available. Before or after this fun filled family event, visit Dimitri's Diner (16 Prospect Street, Ridgefield) and receive 10% off your bill when tickets are presented. Media sponsor for the event is Danbury's 98Q.

This musical adaptation, presented by Virginia Rep On Tour (Formerly Theater IV), brings the classic Grimm's fairy tale to life with a talented ensemble of actors and adorable puppets. The original fairy tale has enchanted young and old alike for centuries. The 1937 Disney movie adaptation of the story was the most successful sound film ever released up to that point and brought the dwarfs - Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, and Dopey - to life. Now, the fairy tale is once again getting a fresh readaptation.

As part of The Ridgefield Playhouse Arts for Everyone program, which helps make the performing arts available to economically disadvantaged residents of Fairfield County who cannot afford the cost of admission, even at reduced rates, the Union Savings Bank Arts for Everyone recipient is Waterbury ARC. The Playhouse was founded in the belief that arts can and do make a difference in the lives of people, and that accessibility to the arts should not be limited by one's ability to pay. Arts for Everyone works with a wide range of non-profit organizations including ABC, Ability Beyond Disability, Danbury Youth Services, Family and Children's Aid, Grassroots Tennis, Mental Health Associates of CT and the Out and About Club. Your donation helps provide tickets and transportation to the Playhouse.

For tickets ($15), call the box office at 203-438-5795, or visit ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a non-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
