Register Today for Young Actors and Young Actors Plus Classes at Playhouse on Park!
There's still time to register for the Young Actors and Young Actors Plus classes at Playhouse on Park, running from September 28-December 7! Young Actors is open to children in grades three and four, and Young Actors Plus is open to children in grades four and five.
In both levels, students will participate in acting exercises and script work to allow them to increase their comfort and technique in portraying a character. Topics will include story telling, using the voice and body onstage, ensemble work, expressing an emotion, and techniques for presenting scenes and monologues. Though the emphasis of each class will be on developing skills and not on a final performance, family and friends are invited to the last class to see students present poems, monologues, or scenes.
Playhouse on Park is pleased to introduce Emily Santarsiero as the instructor for both classes. Emily was born and raised in Glastonbury, CT. She has always had a strong passion for the arts and grew up dancing, acting, and seeing as much theater as possible. While in CT she worked with various theaters such as The Hartford Children's Theater, Park Road Playhouse, Performing Arts Programs, The Hartbeat Ensemble & various high school productions. She is a 2014 graduate of Marymount Manhattan College's acting program. While in NYC she interned with CBS Primetime Casting where she worked beside casting directors & was able to learn the ins & outs of show business. Since graduation she has been an acting teacher for The Warner Theater, Performing Arts Programs, & has been providing private acting lessons as well. Young Actors meets on Wednesdays from 4:00pm-5:00pm, and Young Actors Plus meets on Wednesdays from 5:15pm-6:15pm. Each class per student is priced at $120, with a one-time $15 registration fee.
