Playwrights On Park Reading Series Presents Kira Mason's INSOMNIACS
Join Playhouse on Park in designating the Greater Hartford area as a premiere destination for the cultivation of innovative theatrical work! The Playwrights on Park Reading Series was created for this very purpose. Our next evening in this exciting series is Tuesday, March 5 at 7:30pm with Kira Mason's Insomniacs.
When a high-achieving college student commits suicide, four other high-achieving students must confront their own repressive tendencies and mental health issues in this compelling drama. But as they do, their "inner demons" quite literally come to the surface in one haunting and transformative night.
Kira Mason is a local playwright from Newington, Connecticut. She is a recent graduate of Trinity College, where she received the Frank W. Whitlock Prize in Drama for Rapunzel (co-written by Kailey Carpenter), and developed Insomniacs as part of her senior thesis. As a former Literary/Marketing Intern at Playhouse on Park and the playwright behind The Millennials in their 2018 Play in a Day, she is always thrilled to return to Playhouse.
The mission of Playwrights on Park is to produce original plays and musicals written by emerging playwrights. Each reading features a new work, where audience members participate in a talk back session with the playwright, director and cast members. Audience members are also provided with response cards at the end of each reading. Additionally, there is a talkback segment featuring the Playwright and cast after each reading.
All tickets are $10 each, general admission. For tickets, please call our box office at 860-523-5900 x10, or visit www.playhouseonpark.org. Playhouse on Park is located at 244 Park Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06119.
