Playhouse Theatre Academy Offers Intensive Young Actor's Comedy/Improv Workshop
Playhouse Theatre Academy is a theatre school created by Playhouse on Park providing recreational classes and pre-professional training for both children & adults. All programs, classes and workshops are held at The 224 EcoSpace which is conveniently located for anyone in Greater Hartford area and beyond.
With the Winter Session around the corner, a five-week intensive class for students grades 3-8 has been added to the curriculum! The Young Actor Comedy/Improv Workshop is for students who love to improvise, tell jokes, and act out comedic characters! Students will participate in Improvisation exercises, and build their skills to create their own characters and scenes. Students will often be given vague scenarios to complete utilizing only their creative skills and knowledge of improvisation, learning to be able to say "YES" in any improvisational situation. Family and friends are invited to the last class to see students present their hilarious creations!
It is strongly encouraged that students have prior acting experience, or are currently enrolled in our YOUNG ACTORS class or the ACTOR PERFORMANCE TRAINING PROGRAM. The fee is $120. Comedy/Improv begins on January 30.
Additionally, registration is now open for the Young Actors Training Program Winter Session weekly classes, where students learn the vocabulary, skills, and joy of performing in a nurturing community. Our professional faculty is committed to awakening each student's artistry with care and empathy, providing hands on intensive workshops in acting, musical theatre, improvisation, and more!
There is a once a year $15 registration fee for each student of the Playhouse Theatre Academy. There is a 10% sibling discount. For details regarding class times, instructors, and fees, please visit www.playhouseonpark.org.
