Playhouse On the Park Presents CHICAGO THE MUSICAL, Opens Tonight

The second of two musicals planned this summer at Playhouse on Park opens July 13th. Chicago the musical is based on the original play of the same name by Maurine Dallas Watkins. It is loosely based on the trials of two women accused of murder in the 1920s. Music is by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and the book is by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse. The longest-running musical revival on Broadway, starting in 1996, winning countless awards, this up-to-date, sensational, satirical musical is a must-see! The Cast: Bethany Fitzgerald, Elise Murphy, Keisha Gilles, Doug LeBelle, Rick Fountain, Thao Nguyen, Ramona Piretti, Michael O'Brien, Laura Helm, Lindsay Adkins, Carolyn Cumming, Hannah Kaplan, Erica Misenti, Joseph Fierberg, Tim Haché, William Macke, and Spencer Pond.

Performances are scheduled Wednesday, July 13th at 7:30pm (preview performance); July 14th at 7:30 pm (opening night, includes complimentary wine & cheese); Friday, July 15th at 8:00pm; Saturday, July 16th at 8:00pm and 11:30pm; Sunday July 17th at 2:00pm (includes post performance talk back with cast); Thursday, July 21st at 7:30 pm (this is a special anniversary celebration for Playhouse on Park and includes a post performance party), Friday, July 22nd at 8:00pm; Saturday, July 23rd at 8:00pm (includes post performance open mic) and Sunday, July 24th at 2:00pm.

Tickets range from $22.50-$32.50 with savings for students, seniors and Let's Go Arts Members. Student rush tickets are available for $10, cash only, 15-minutes prior to curtain. On Saturday, July 16th, BYOB to the un-censored 11:30pm performance of Chicago (must be 18 or older). On July 23rd there will be a free open mic Cabaret after the 8:00pm performance of Chicago, at about 10:00pm. Singers can bring their own sheet music, or choose a song from ours. Observers welcome!

Thursday, July 21st Playhouse on Park will celebrate its Second Anniversary with a performance of Chicago and a post-performance party with the cast, staff and board of directors. This will also serve as a fundraiser for Playhouse on Park. All tickets are $50.00
