Paul Perroni To Star In DEFENDING THE CAVEMAN At Long Wharf 8/11-22

By:

Paul Perroni will star in Rob Becker's Defending the Caveman, running August 11-22 on Long Wharf Theatre's Mainstage.

Tickets are $32 and are available by calling 203-787-4282 or visiting www.longwharf.org. Performances are Wednesday through Sunday at 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Defending the Caveman is the longest running solo play in Broadway history, winning the hearts of millions throughout the world. This outrageously funny and surprisingly sweet exploration of the gender gap has made Defending the Caveman "a comic phenomenon," according to the New York Times. A hilariously insightful play about the ways men and women relate, Caveman has both sexes roaring with laughter and recognition, making us laugh at ourselves about all the ways men and women fight, laugh and love.
Perroni moved to New York City recently after spending several successful years in the Chicago theatre scene. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, Paul has performed in theatres and Comedy Clubs all over the country. "Words cannot describe how excited I am to be performing and touring Defending the Caveman," he said.

In addition to playing the Caveman, Paul has played characters ranging from Edmund Tyrone in Long Day's Journey into Night and Cassius in Julius Caesar, to a recurring role as Comedian/DJ Johnny Hughes in the Off-Broadway production of The Awesome 80s Prom at the Radio Star Ballroom; other Chicago credits include work at the Actors Workshop Theatre, Victory Gardens Greenhouse, Oak Park Festival Theatre, Metropolis Performing Arts Center, The Journeyman Theatre, Apollo Theatre, Chemically Imbalanced Comedy and Emerald City Theatre.

He received his BA from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He also studied the classics at the Victory Gardens Theatre.
