Park & Oak Restaurant Hosts Show-Stopping Cast Party ImageAfter a successful opening at Playhouse on Park, the cast and crew of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) along with Playhouse staff, board members and friends, took the short walk down Park Road to the newest addition to the neighborhood. Park & Oak Restaurant were their gracious hosts, accommodating all 50 hungry guests!

Chef David Borselle offered crispy hush puppies, mouthwatering mini pizzas with homemade pesto, delectably saucy wings, and fresh crudite with homemade dips to the crowd, who washed everything down with spicy margaritas and lavender-lacEd French 75s.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) is written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield, and back by popular demand. The cultural touchstone features all 37 of Shakespeare's plays, performed in 97 minutes, by three actors. In his review of the Playhouse's production, The Hartford Courant's Chris Arnott reviews: "'The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)' is not an academic treatise or a high-minded satire. It's an unabashed celebration of theater geekdom."

In addition to hosting The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) cast party, Park & Oak Restaurant is also a participant in the Playhouse on Park dining partner program. West Hartford restaurants that partner with Playhouse on Park not only experience exposure, but also an increase in their sales on performance nights. Area restaurants that host or cater cast parties are featured in Playhouse programs; with every show, programs are distributed to over 160 patrons.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) runs through July 30. A special Tuesday matinee has been set for July 18 at 2pm, with discounted tickets available for $22.50, all seats reserved.

For tickets, please call our box office at (860) 523-5900, or visit www.playhouseonpark.org. For those interested in becoming a dining partner or hosting a cast party, please email matkinson@playhousetheatregroup.org. Playhouse on Park is located at 244 Park Road, West Hartford, CT 06119.
