Pantochino Teen Theatre Brings YOUNG FRANKENSTIEN To Life In Downtown Milford ImagePantochino Teen Theatre will present the Mel Brooks musical, "Young Frankenstein" for three performances August 10 - 12 at Milford Arts, the MAC on Railroad Avenue in Downtown Milford. The show features thirty local young actors, age 12 to 18 in a production sponsored by the Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation.

"Young Frankenstein" is based on the Mel Brooks comedy film which is an affectionate parody of the classic 1930's horror film. The stage version features book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan and music and lyrics by Mr. Brooks.

The story follows Frederick Frankenstein, grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein to his family's estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor, and a sexy lab assistant, Inga, Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors, bringing to life a creature to rival his grandfather's. The musical is produced with special arrangement from Music Theatre International in New York.

Pantochino Teen Theatre allows young actors the opportunity to work with professional directors and designers outside the academic setting, on a schedule matching that of professional theatre companies. "Young Frankenstein" has been cast, learned and rehearsed in an immersive ten rehearsals in a brief two-week period. Bernardi directs the show with Justin Rugg as musical director and Becki Walter, choreographer. The design team includes Jimmy Johansmeyer (costumes), Jeff Carr (lighting), Von Del Mar (sets) and Sara Brown (sound).
The cast includes young actors from Milford, Monroe, Fairfield, Stratford, Shelton, Trumbull, Orange and Branford.

Performances of "Young Frankenstein" are Friday, August 10 and Saturday, Saturday August 11 at 7:30pm and Sunday, August 12 at 2pm. All tickets are $10. and available online at pantochino.com
