NEXT TO NORMAL Musical Extends Its Stay at TheaterWorks

By:

The Pulitzer Prize winner Next to Normal musical recently opened at TheaterWorks in Hartford, Connecticut and will now extend its well-praised stay from April 30th to May 7th.

The gripping story surrounds a mother named Diana Goodman (Christiane Noll) who is diagnosed with bipolar disorder and has to come to terms with how her illness impacts the entire family.

Director Rob Ruggiero said, "This brilliantly structured musical is relevant, provocative and entertaining and I am sure it will be experienced through a new lens in our very intimate space."

With music orchestrated by Tom Kitt and lyrics created by Brian Yorkey, there are over 30 well-crafted songs that are both controversial and heartening, making this three-time Tony Award winner a must see.
