Summer is the time for barbeques, weekend trips, lazy afternoons at the beach - and comedy at Long Wharf Theatre!

Continuing the theatre's tradition of fun and laughs during the summer, a pair of old friends returns to the Mainstage in July and August. Steve Solomon, who brought his unique brand of comedy to Long Wharf last summer and this holiday season - playing to sold out houses - will perform his new show My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm Still in Therapy from July 6-18. From August 11-22, Defending the Caveman, the smash Broadway hit, will play on the Mainstage.

The 2010 Long Wharf Theatre Summer Comedy Series

My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm Still in Therapy
All New Show Written and Performed by Steve Solomon
July 6-18 on the Mainstage
Tickets are $40
After playing to sellout audiences in two previous appearances in New Haven, Solomon continues his comedy chaos in this all-new, critically acclaimed prequel to his original smash hit. Still in Therapy takes us back Steve's wacky childhood growing up with his twin sister "The Smoker." The audience follows along in this wonderfully funny journey about growing up, mixed marriages, ex-wives, dogs, cats, dieting and dozens of other side-splitting situations to which we can all relate.

Defending the Caveman
By Rob Becker
August 11-22 on the Mainstage
Tickets are $30
Defending the Caveman, the longest running solo play in Broadway history, has won the hearts of millions throughout the world. This outrageously funny and surprisingly sweet exploration of the gender gap has made Defending the Caveman "a comic phenomenon," according to the New York Times. A hilariously insightful play about the ways men and women relate, Caveman has both sexes roaring with laughter and recognition, making us laugh at ourselves about all the ways men and women fight, laugh and love.
