Lighthouse Keeper Douglas Set for THE COAST GUARD IN LONG ISLAND SOUND Talk at Custom House, 8/24

Retired USCG & part-time Lighthouse Keeper Douglas Allen visits the Custom House this Saturday to discuss his first-hand experiences with lighthouses, search and rescue, and even painting New London Light from a boatswains chair ("--never again!") in a talk entitled The Coast Guard in Long Island Sound.

Mr Allen's presentation takes place on Saturday, August 24 at 4 PM at the Custom House Maritime Museum. Reservations are required; call 860-447-2501. Donation of $8 benefits both the Ledge Light Foundation and NL Harbor Light Restoration Fund.

The Custom House Maritime Museum is open year-round - telling the stories of New London's waterfront. The Custom House Maritime Museum is always FREE for current members and children under age 18 (with adult). A $5 donation is asked for all others.
