Holiday Extravaganza with Trans Siberian Orchestra's WIZARDS OF WINTER EXPERIENCE at The Ridgefield Playhouse, 12/7

By:

This is a holiday show extravaganza if there ever was one! Trans Siberian Orchestra is bringing The Wizards of Winter Experience to The Ridgefield Playhouse in two shows on Sunday, December 7, at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. An 11-member ensemble will perform the Trans Siberian Orchestra's greatest hits such as "Christmas Eve in Sarajevo", "Mad Russian", "Christmas in the Air", "Old City Bar" and "Queen of the Winter Night", as well as play music from their own rock opera, Tales Beneath a Northern Star, blending their heavy metal, progressive rock vibe with the heartwarming sounds of the season. Their unique style of musical intensity, soaring vocal harmonies and stage theatrics layered around a rich storyboard will create a most unique dazzling holiday spectacle. Tom Tom's Restaurant and Bakery (417 Main St., Ridgefield) will pour a free glass of house wine with dinner the night of this show when tickets/stubs are presented. An AllShows.com VIP Party Pass ($25 addt'l per person), which includes a cocktail party from 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. with open bar, hors-d'oeuvre and priority parking, is available for this show by calling the box office (203-438-5795). This show is part of the Xfinity Rock Series.

Make no mistake: The Wizards of Winter is not a Trans Siberian Orchestra tribute group, and they do not perform a whole evening of their music but do perform some of their greatest hits as part of an original holiday rock opera. The Wizards of Winter is an eclectic group of musicians from the Metro NY, NJ, PA region whose strong Classical and Progressive Rock influences are woven throughout their musical careers. One clear vision of faithfully reproducing the music of the Trans-Siberia Orchestras brought this group of talented performers together in 2010. Their?2014 show will bring a bigger production and some new original material. ? In the words of someone who attended this holiday happening, "... I took my family to see the Wizards of Winter to get us in the holiday spirit. They were fantastic. Their original music was excellent and I would love to get one of their CDs. They played all the TSO favorites and were right on. Add to that, getting to hear some of the original TSO members perform their songs with them. It was a great night... Can't wait to see them again next year. Thanks for a great show and putting us all in the holiday spirit." Need we say more?

For tickets ($45), call the box office (203) 438-5795, or order online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT; ridgefieldplayhouse.org.
