The first leg of the world premiere production of HIGH, by Matthew Lombardo has set a new box office record at TheaterWorks in Hartford, Connecticut: the top grossing play in the company's 25-year history.

Having sold out virtually every performance of its July 2 through August 22 extended run, HIGH now opens the 2010-2011 Season at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, September 4 through October 2, 2010. The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis then presents HIGH October 13 through November 7, 2010.

Hartford-born playwright Matthew Lombardo now has the distinction of having set box office records at both of the city's professional regional theaters. His Katharine Hepburn bio-play Tea at Five, established a new high-water mark for Hartford Stage by the conclusion of its run in 2002.

HIGH stars two-time Golden Globe winner, Academy Award and Tony Award nominee Kathleen Turner, along with Evan Jonigkeit and Tony Award nominee Michael Berresse.

The extended run of HIGH at TheaterWorks was marked by tumultuous audience response and overwhelming critical acclaim.

Hartford-based Aetna served as the production's Lead Sponsor, with additional support provided by Webster Bank and The Roberts Foundation.

TheaterWorks' Founder and Executive Director, Steve Campo stated: Aetna has virtually created a new paradigm for corporate support of the arts through its association with HIGH. Traditional sponsorship models generally entail corporate logos slapped on whatever seems safest. Aetna's alignment with HIGH was courageous, and ultimately represented a profound articulation of the interplay between the work of theater and the challenges of life."

In HIGH, when Sister Jamison Connelly (Kathleen Turner) agrees to sponsor a 19 year-old drug-user to help him combat addiction, her own faith is tested. Struggling between the knowledge she possesses as a rehabilitation counselor and her own moral convictions, she begins to question the belief in miracles and whether people can find the courage to change. HIGH explores the universal themes of truth, forgiveness, redemption and human fallibility.

HIGH is directed by Rob Ruggiero. The play's design team includes Tony Award winnning set designer David Gallo, Tony Award winning costume designer, Jess Goldstein; as well as veterans John Lasiter (Lights); and, Vincent Olivieri (Sound).

After Turner's run in St Louis, the show will be moving to Cincinatti. For additional information on that production, visit: www.repstl.org
