Debbie Gravitte to Celebrate Release of New Album Tony Award-winner and Ridgefield resident Debbie Gravitte celebrates the releases of her new album and brings Broadway to The Ridgefield Playhouse in her spectacular live show, Big Band Broadway, on Saturday, February 3rd at 7:30pm as part of Ridgefield Magazine's Broadway and Cabaret Series, partially underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon & Spa. Backed by RK Big Band, led by Russ Kassoff, Gravitte will perform songs from her new album, Big Band Broadway!, along with some old favorites. Gravitte is one of Broadway's biggest personalities and won the prestigious Tony Award for "Best Featured Actress in a Musical" for her performance in Jerome Robbins' Broadway, which also earned her a Drama Desk Award nomination and a New York Showstopper Award. You've never heard "Surrey With The Fringe on Top" sound anything like this! Make it a great night out with dinner and a show - visit Bernard's (20 West Lane, Ridgefield) on the day of the show for a great Prix Fixe Menu when you present your tickets to this performance (reservations suggested). Media partner for this great night of music is WMNR, Fine Arts Radio.

Hailed as "one of the best voices on Broadway" by the Associated Press, Gravitte revealed that Big Band Broadway! is her favorite album she has recorded because it is so personal. Producing her own album is something Gravitte had wanted to do for a long time and she finally got the chance this time around. The self-produced album gave her the opportunity to choose her favorite Broadway songs and she says that each one makes her so happy. That joy comes across in Gravitte's live performance, too, and you may not be able to stop yourself from singing along in your seat!

Debbie Gravitte began her career on Broadway in the original cast of THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG and went on to appear in PERFECTLY FRANK (Drama Desk Award nomination), BLUES IN THE NIGHT, AIN'T BROADWAY GRAND, ZORBA, CHICAGO, and LES MISERABLES. She has also appeared in the ENCORE series productions of THE BOYS FROM SYRACUSE and TENDERLOIN; in CARNIVAL at New York's City Center; as Reno Sweeney in ANYTHING GOES; in LOVE LIFE at the Walnut St. Theatre and in the West Coast Premiere of THE GOODBYE GIRL. She has performed her nightclub act everywhere around the work from New York's RAINBOW AND STARS, 54 BELOW and BIRDLAND to London's PIZZA ON THE PARK, and back to Atlantic City, where she has performed with Jay Leno, Harry Anderson and the legendary George Burns.

For tickets ($47.50), call or visit the box office, 203-438-5795 or go online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a non-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
