Nobody lived life like Johnny Cash, and nobody plays Johnny Cash like Cash is King! Legendary country rebel Johnny Cash comes to life in the re-creation show "Cash Is King." The Man in Black became a musical icon with a career spanning half a century and countless hits, including "Folsom Prison Blues," "I Walk the Line," "Ring of Fire" and many more.

Now you can experience the father of Outlaw Country as he was in his prime, from his Sun Records days to his historic concert at Folsom Prison. Singer Brian Chicoine captures Cash's trademark baritone, while his band delivers the infectious, driving rhythm of the Tennessee Three. Of course, it wouldn't be a Johnny Cash show without Mrs. Cash, June Carter, brought to life by Vicky St. Pierre on such classic duets as "Jackson."

With authentic costumes and stories from Cash's eventful life, Cash Is King is the true Johnny Cash experience. The Ridgefield Playhouse presents Cash Is King, An Extraordinary Recreation of Johnny Cash & The Tennessee Three, on Saturday, October 7 at 8pm as part of the Mountain Dew Country and Bluegrass Series. With period costumes, cover versions of Cash classics and between song banter that mirrors the personality of the man and his band, this tribute captures the legendary Johnny Cash! Kicking off the night is special guest Rock This Town - the ultimate and only Brian Setzer Orchestra Tribute Band in the USA. It is at the forefront of the swing revival in popular music, blending a vibrant fusion of the American sounds of classic 50's rock & roll and big band swing with the energy and spirit of contemporary culture.

Cash is King sells out venues throughout the Northeast and it's not hard to see why. With more than 30 classic Cash songs in their catalog, period costumes, stories from Cash's life, and between song banter that mirrors the personality of the man and his band, this tribute captures the essential Johnny Cash experience! Now, they return the Ridgefield Playhouse as a part of the Mountain Dew Country and Bluegrass Series to bring The Man in Black back to life!

The band features Brian Chicoine as Johnny Cash, who has been described as the closest thing to the original that can possibly be, as well as Vicky St. Pierre as June Carter Cash, Junior Cain on bass as Marshall Grant, and Gary Tokarz on drums as W.S. Holland. The group's chemistry perfectly emulates that of Cash's original band! Don't miss this chance to return to the golden age of rock and roll!

For tickets ($30), call the box office at 203-438-5795, or visit ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a non-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
