Brubeck Brothers Quartet to Perform in Connecticut Jazz lovers rejoice! Dan and Chris Brubeck, sons of jazz giant Dave Brubeck, arrive at the University of Saint Joseph's Autorino Center for the Arts with the Brubeck Brothers Quartet on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 7pm.

Led by Chris as bassist and trombonist and Dan on drums, this dynamic quartet is completed by guitarist Mike DeMicco and pianist Chuck Lamb. Rooted in "straight-ahead" jazz, their concerts reveal an inherent ability to explore and play odd time signatures while naturally integrating the influences of funk, blues and world music. The group's creativity, technique and improvisation can be heard in their uncompromising music, which reflects their dedication to melody, rhythm, culture and the spontaneous spirit of jazz.

The Brubeck Brothers Quartet goes beyond the conventional definition of jazz music, collaborating with orchestral musicians, organists, and other performers worldwide. Since their debut in 2001, the group has creatively blended jazz tradition and original twists to create a smooth, warm sound that is all their own. Their songs feature flirtatious guitars and pianos, airy percussion, and buttery bass lines that invite listeners to sit back and relax.

Chris Brubeck has built a career as a multi-instrumentalist and composer with a flair for contemporary melodies. As a drummer, Dan Brubeck is known for his complex rhythms and textured solos. Mike DeMicco's blues-inspired guitar style adds a soulful edge to the quartet's music. Chuck Lamb rounds out the group as a pianist and composer who specializes in jazz fusion. The quartet's combination of musical expertise and passion is sure to entertain jazz aficionados and newcomers alike.

"The University is thrilled to have these jazz giants perform in our hall. It's going to be quite an experience," says, Director of the Autorino Center, Steven Raider-Ginsburg.

Admission is $27 and $18 for students and children. Performance will take place in the Bruyette Athenaeum. For questions call Frances Driscoll Box Office: 860.231.5555 or online at tickets.usj.edu.
