The greatest young adventurers in American literature spring to life in this foot-stompin' musical based on the novels of Mark Twain. Join Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer as they bring all of their shenanigans to the stage in two daytime performances of Huck & Tom and the Mighty Mississippi at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Saturday, April 21 at 11am and 2pm. You'll also meet Jim, Becky Thatcher, Aunt Polly and all the residents and rapscallions of Hannibal, Missouri as they explore the majestic river that defined their lives, tested their souls, and carried their spirit into the heart of America. This production, presented by Virginia Rep On Tour, is part of Ridgefield Academy Family Series with support from the Ridgefield Library and partially underwritten by Books on the Common. Make it a day out with the family - visit Dimitri's Diner (16 Prospect Street ~ Ridgefield) before or after the show and enjoy 10% off your meal when you show your ticket! Media partner for these performances is 98Q, Danbury's Hit Music and Macaroni Kid.

In Peter Howard's adaptation of stories from Mark Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the audience is introduced to stories and themes of freedom and adventure through several rollicking musical numbers addressing the importance of the mighty Mississippi River. A series of vignettes portray important relationships from the novels, such as the romance between Tom and his classmate Becky Thatcher; the two friends from different backgrounds, Huck and Tom; and Huck's life changing relationship with the runaway slave Jim. The Union Savings Bank Arts for Everyone recipient for these performances is Dreams Come True of Western CT.

For tickets ($15) call or visit the box office, 203-438-5795 or go online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a non-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
