Review: Mohegan Sun's Star-Studded Musical Weekend

By:

Over the weekend, Mohegan Sun celebrated its 20th anniversary with star-studded musical performances and celebrity-packed appearances.

Located in Uncasville, Connecticut, the casino didn't disappoint with its festivities, starting on Friday night with funny guy Kevin Hart hosting the 20th Anniversary Comedy All-Star Gala. Not only did he made the audience laugh, but he brought up a few other comedians to help, such as Margaret Cho and Sarah Silverman. Following the show, there was an exclusive after party at the casino's own Avalon with country singer Jessie James Decker strutting the red carpet after a wild performance in the Cabaret Theatre.

On Saturday night, pop-sensation, Fergie hit the stage in the Mohegan Sun Arena, bringing the crowd to their feet as they danced along to songs, including "My Humps," "I've Gotta Feeling," and "Big Girls Don't Cry." Singer Daya opened for the show, pleasing all with her popular "Hide Away" track made big over the summer.

Meanwhile, as Fergie was doing her thing on stage, so was Hip Hop great, LL Cool J in the Wolf Den. The pop rap veteran performed many of his well-known tracks, like "Hey Lover," "Hush" and "Doing It."

And the fun didn't stop there. As the night went on, the 20th Anniversary Ballroom Party began, bringing a plethora of celebrity sightings, such as Robin Thicke, Joe Manganiello, Tyson Beckford, and Cassie, to the red carpet. And the evening wasn't complete without mega producer, Timbaland mixing beats in the DJ booth.

On October 26th, the casino will welcome Sia, Miguel & AlunaGeorge to the stage, to help continue with the month-long anniversary celebration.
