Author Stuart J. Murphy Visits Playhouse on Park
It is a dream for every writer to have the story they create come to life on the stage. For Stuart J. Murphy, the author of the Mathstart book series, that dream became a reality. Last month, Mr. Murphy stopped by Playhouse on Park to see The Main Street Kids' Club, a youth-friendly musical based on his work.
Mr. Murphy, who grew up in the West Hartford area and attended Maple Street School in Rockville, wrote about his experience on his personal blog: "Line after line of children filed into their seats.They were so excited when [Tobi, a central character] finally made it in [to the club].I was beaming the whole time." Playhouse on Park put on the production as part of its 2013-2014 Young Audiences series.
