Adam Trese to join Long Wharf Theatre's A DOLL'S HOUSE
By: Gabrielle Sierra
Broadway performer Adam Trese will play the role of Torvald in Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein's adaptation of A Doll's House, by Henrik Ibsen.
The show will run on the Mainstage, located at 222 Sargent Drive, New Haven, from April 28 through May 23. Nora, a vibrant young woman, has surrounded herself with the trappings of the perfect life. She prides herself in three beautiful children, a big comfortable house, and a handsome husband who has a new job at a large investment bank. But the illusion of her success is about to fade as the secret that hold her family together is exposed for all to see. Edelstein's world premiere adaptation casts Ibsen's ground-breaking, 19th-century drama in a visceral contemporary light.
Adam Trese previously appeared at Long Wharf Theatre in 2001 in Kenneth Lonergan's The Waverly Gallery, directed by John Tillinger. His Broadway work includes in 12 Angry Men and A View From The Bridge. He has appeared off-Broadway in The Women of Lockerbie, the New York premiere of Dennis Johnson's Shoppers Carried by Escalators Into the Flames and The Time of the Cuckoo. Film appearances include 40 Days and 40 Nights Polish Wedding, Stephen Soderbergh's The Underneath, Palookaville, illtown and Laws of Gravity. His television appearances include "Law & Order: Criminal Intent", "30 Rock", "Rescue Me", "Lipstick Jungle", "The Sopranos", "Law & Order", "NY Undercover", "NYPD Blue", "Homicide" and "Murder She Wrote."Videos
