By:

ANON(ymous) by Naomi Iizuka will be performed at Oddfellows Playhouse Youth Theater, 128 Washington St. by the Teen Company opening on May 11th and closing on May 20th. Shows are on Thursdays and Fridays at 7pm, and Saturdays at 2pm. This show is recommended for ages 12 and up. Tickets now available at www.oddfellows.org or by calling 860 347 6143.

ANON(ymous) tells the story of Anon, a refugee in America searching for his mother. They were separated during their journey to America, Anon adopted by a wealthy American couple and his mother finding employment in a sweat shop. Anon's journey mirrors Odysseus's in the Odyssey. Renowned, contemporary playwright, Naomi Iizuka finds new interpretations of the Cyclops and the Sirens to create a stunning, evocative - and provocative new myth for today.

Directed by Kim West (Alliance Theater Atlanta, Hartford Arts Academy) the Teen Company features actors 14 - 19. Oddfellows' produces classics and contemporary plays that ask questions about our society and challenge young actors. Each show features a fully designed production in our flexible black box theater. For Anon(ymous), Luke Reinwald's set, Marion Imbruglio's costumes, Matt Pryke's lighting design, and Hannah Simm's sound design add depth and artistry to this production.

Established in 1975, Oddfellows is Connecticut's oldest and largest year-round youth theater. The Playhouse offers theater and circus classes, Theater Productions and each summer leads and produces the Children's Circus of Middletown.
