Finding Nemo Kids at Park Avenue Elementary

Park Avenue Elementary students return to the stage with “Finding Nemo Kids” on Thursday, May 9 and Friday May 10 at 6pm in the Park Avenue gym.

The 42 member cast, featuring kids in kindergarten through 5th grade, auditioned and started rehearsing for the hour-long production in February.

Featuring the songs “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends,” and “Go With the Flow,” Finding Nemo Kids brings a vibrant, underwater world to life on the stage. It is a story full of family, friendship and adventure.

The show is under the direction of Briana McCaffrey, with assistance from assistant director Kascidee Shawver, musical director Abigail Stepp and stage manager Amber Dailey.

Jackie Edwards, fourth grade, is in the title role of Nemo. Connor Ardnt, fifth grade, and Layla Nobles, fifth grade will grace the stage as overprotective Marlin and fun, forgetful Dory. Our tank gang is made up of Abigail Lakey (Gill), Hailey Combs (Bloat), Maddie Dailey (Peach), Lilah Aberts (Bubbles), Chayton Howard (Gurgle). Crush is played by fifth grader Jay Brekhus with kindergartener Jack Wolfel by her side as Squirt. Janna Lowe, third grade plays Nigel and she is joined by third grader Emma Gaitten (Jib), fourth grader Peyton Snyder (Tiller) and third grader Brylee Ware (Sprit) as the other three pelican narrators. Fifth grader Allyssa Pierce helps first grader Elly Staats (Sheldon), first grader Leejay Carroll (Pearl) and kindergartener Marie Lyons (Tad) name the zones of the open sea as Professor Ray. Our trio of sharks is played by fifth graders Hudson Hand (Bruce), Hudson Martin (Anchor) and Anna Baldwin (Chum).

Tickets will be available at the door at no cost, however donations will be accepted to put towards next years show. TIckets are general admission and will be given on a first come first serve basis. Doors will open at 5:30pm.
