EDGAR, A Mesmeric Passage Into The Life of Edgar Allan Poe, makes its Columbus premier at the Shedd Theatre on Friday, September 13th.

This Ohio-born production is a multi-faceted adventure, transforming the stage with an innovative documentary presentation of Poe from birth to his final day. The moment the casket closes on screen, Poe takes the stage. The production also boasts an original soundtrack.

"This show focuses on who Poe really was, and how his life is seen through his work," said Wayne Justice, the show's creator and director.

The production is unique in that it is evolutionary, each year featuring different works of the madman poet. Audiences will see behind the scenes of one of the most enigmatic literary figures of all time, then are transported to his world by the man himself. There are some surprises along the way but audience members can expect to see their favorites: A Tell Tale Heart, The Raven and Lenore.

"We do not edit his work, he never wanted that, we present his work in unexpected ways," said Justice.

Tickets for this 90 minute production are $15 and $13 for any student, to purchase tickets and for more information please visit the official website www.edgaroveramerica.com.

The Shedd Theatre is located at 549 Franklin Avenue, Columbus, OH 43215. Showtime at 8:00pm, doors open one hour prior.
