Jeff Horst to Star in CAPA's A CHRISTMAS CAROL, November 25-27

By:

An annual tradition for more than 30 years, NTC PRODUCTIONS® brings Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol back to Columbus over Thanksgiving weekend. This timeless tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and his search for the true spirit of Christmas captures every detail of the classic holiday tale, from the spine-chilling ghosts to the gorgeous renditions of traditional British carols. Crotchety Scrooge, lovable Tiny Tim, and all the fascinating characters that audiences have come to love make it a treasured kick off to the holiday season in Columbus.

Currently in his second year with the production, Columbus native and OSU graduate Jeff Horst will perform the lead role of Scrooge for the Columbus engagement. While currently residing in NYC, Horst has worked on numerous Columbus productions including TITANIC: A Concert Version of the Musical , The Miracle Worker, and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer for The Phoenix Theatre for Children and Beauty and the Beast for the Columbus Children's Theatre.

CAPA presents Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol at the Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.) on Friday, November 25, at 7:30 pm; Saturday, November 26, at 2 pm and 7:30 pm; and Sunday, November 27, at 2 pm and 7:30 pm. Tickets are $22, $27, and $32 at the Ohio Theatre Ticket Office (39 E. State St.), all Ticketmaster outlets, and www.ticketmaster.com. To purchase by phone, please call (614) 469-0939 or (800) 745-3000. Students between the ages of 13-19 may purchase $5 High Five tickets while available. This Family Series presentation is made possible through the generous support of Bob Evans and series sponsor AEP.

Performed by a spirited ensemble cast of actors and musicians, A Christmas Carol features almost two dozen traditional Christmas melodies including "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," "Good King Wenceslaus," "Away in a Manger," and "Here We Come A-Wassailing." The production artfully recreates both the poverty and luxury of 19th-century London as a backdrop to the fable of Ebenezer Scrooge, a lonely man who is given the rarest of gifts-the chance to change his life and find his heart.

NTC PRODUCTIONS® is the professional touring wing of the Omaha Community Playhouse, a unique partnership of a professional company and the nation's largest community theatre. NTC has two touring companies that perform each November and December throughout the Midwest, South, and East Coast, entertaining thousands of families across the country.
