Colleen Dunne to Direct COMING OUT at Abbey Theater of Dublin, 10/3-19
New to the Columbus area, Tennessee native Colleen Dunne is making her debut as a theatrical director with the new J.T. McDaniel dark comedy COMING OUT, premiering October 4 at the Abbey Theater of Dublin. A performer since the age of 8, Dunne took over direction of the new play from author McDaniel in September."I found myself as solo director when my co-director had to withdraw," McDaniel related. "As I am also playing Bob Anderson, who never actually leaves the stage except for the act break, it was obvious this wasn't going to work out. A director really needs to be able to watch, and you can't do that when you're also participating. At least, I can't. Colleen came in, got everything organized, and made a huge improvement in the show. The words are mine; the staging and dynamics are very much hers."
