Cleveland Public Library and The Cleveland Orchestra are pleased to announce the public release of the first wave of digitized materials from The Cleveland Orchestra Archives' News and Reviews Collection during National Archives Month (October), which is available now to the public for free at https://cplorg.contentdm.oclc.org. The overarching collection contains thousands of articles, reviews, and ephemera documenting the Orchestra's 100-year history, and its digitization represents a successful collaborative partnership between two longstanding Cleveland institutions.

Cleveland Play House Awarded AAEDD Grant For CARE Program

Cleveland Play House (CPH) has been awarded a grant through the Assistance for Arts Education Development and Dissemination Grants Program (AAEDD), which will provide $2 million to continue and expand Compassionate Arts Remaking Education (CARE) over the next four years.  CPH, in partnership with the Cleveland Municipal School District, will add an additional six teachers, and expand to a total of 10 schools and reach over 4,100 students with CARE.

Verb Ballets has commissioned two new ballet by Cleveland choreographers Kay Eichman and Richard Dickinson. The public is invited on October 26, 2018 for Live @ Noon an exclusive working rehearsal with the choreographers. This unique opportunity will provide insight into the work of creating a new ballet and the choreographers process. Cleveland Public Theatre and Y-Haven present Outside the Mirror, created and performed by the residents of Y-Haven, a branch of the Greater Cleveland YMCA. The Y-Haven Theatre Project is a 20-year partnership between Cleveland Public Theatre and Y-Haven, a transitional housing facility for formerly homeless men recovering from substance abuse and mental health challenges. Every year, CPT collaborates with the clients of Y-Haven to create an original theatre production, performed by the men and based on their life stories. The Y-Haven Theatre Project captures an authenticity and emotional power as the cast shares their true-to-life experiences often hidden from the world.
