The PlayhouseSquare Community Engagement & Education Department is now accepting applications for four teen programs - STAR Leaders, STAR Reporters, Students Take A Role at the Square (STARS) and Teen Advisory Council. Applications are available online at playhousesquare.org/teens or by calling 216-348-7909.
"We've developed these programs to give teens an inside look at the performing arts industry," said Colleen Porter, director of community engagement & education. "They give us their time, energy and enthusiasm and we aim to have them leave with an understanding of all that goes into presenting a performance. The students build communication skills and gain awareness of the variety of career paths available in the performing arts."STAR Reporters STAR Reporters review KeyBank Broadway Series at PlayhouseSquare performances just like professional critics. Students selected for this role receive admission to Press Night for all KeyBank Broadway Series shows and their reviews are posted to The PlayhouseSquare website (playhousesquare.org/starreporters). Training is provided. Applicants must submit a writing sample and be able to meet strict deadlines. Only 10 STAR Reporter roles are available to high school students who live in Northeast Ohio. Applications are due September 23.
