Beavercreek Community Theatre's Edge of the Creek Productions will hold open auditions for "Assassins" at 7 p.m. on April 6 and 7 at the theater, located within the the Lofino Adult Enrichment and Cultural Arts Center at 3868 Dayton-Xenia Road in Beavercreek..

Production dates for the show, written by Stephen Sondheim, will be Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from June 19 to June 28.

This surreal, disturbing musical lays bare the lives of nine individuals who assassinated or attempted to assinate the President of the United States and explores the dark side of the American experience. Bedning the ruls of time and space, it takes us on a nightmarish ride in which assassins meet and inspire each other to do harrowing acts in the name of the American Dream.

Auditions for the show, being directed by Jim Lockwood, are open only to those age 18 and older, except for one role for a boy about 9 years old. Signed parental consent will be required of anyone under the age of 18 wishing to audition for this show.

There will be cold readings from the script and those auditioning should come prepared with a short song of about one minute. They will also be taught, and asked to perform, a short and simple dance routine, so they should come dressed appropriately.

Like all Edge of the Creek productions, this show is for mature audiences and contains material that some people may find objectionable.
