ALTAR BOYZ Comes To The PlayhouseSquare, Closes 1/30

Full of sharp parody and irreverent humor, ALTAR BOYZ is the hilarious spoof about a heavenly guy-group that is adored by audiences and critics alike. Produced by The Beck Center, ALTAR BOYZ is a sharp and polished pop-music parody with irreverent humor that tells the inspiring story of five small-town boys trying to save the world one screaming fan at a time. Featuring 90 minutes of side-splitting songs (convincing enough to be played on MTV), uncontrollable laughs and light hearted fun, ALTAR BOYZ closes at PlayhouseSquare's Hanna Theatre January 30. 

Winner of the 2005 Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Off-Broadway Musical and hailed as "high-octane entertainment" (Talkin' Broadway) the shows fictitious boy band follows heavenly heartthrobs Mathew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham as they perform their last concert on their "Raise the Praise" tour. Their pious pop act (including the songs "Girl You Make Me Wanna Wait" and "Jesus Called Me On My Cell Phone") worked wonders on the Ohio bingo-hall-and-pancake-breakfast circuit but when fate brings them to New York, will the boyz take a bite out of the forbidden apple? With angelic voices, sinfully spectacular dancing and a touching story, ALTAR BOYZ rocks the masses of all denominations!

ALTAR BOYZ is produced by The Beck Center; where it made its Ohio premier during the summer of 2008. ALTAR BOYZ is based on the book written by Kevin Del Aguila and features music and lyrics by Gary Adler & Michael Patrick Walker. The show was conceived by Marc Kessler & Ken Davenport. The Cleveland cast features the following actors in their respective roles:
