Scenic Charge At Bay Street Theater 2018 Summer Season - Bay Street Theater

Bay Street Theater, Sag Harbor, NY seeks a Scenic Charge for the upcoming Summer 2018 Season. Bay Street is a professional Regional theatre company with a 299-seat mainstage situated on Long Wharf, in Sag Harbor, NY. Baystreet works with professional directors, designers, playwrights, and actors from New York City and around the country.



The Mainstage productions for this season are the world premiere of FELLOW TRAVELERS (May 29 – June 17), FROST/NIXON (June 26 – July 22), EVITA (July 31 – August 26). Please check out Bay Street's website for more info: www.baystreet.org.



Duties for the Scenic Charge will include providing scenic painting for the mainstage productions as well as other special events, concerts, galas, outdoor performances. Duties include purchasing paint and supplies, creating texture and color samples from the designer’s elevations, patterning/layout, priming and base coating, as well as finish work, aging techniques, and mixing/matching colors. The Scenic Charge is responsible for hiring the Scenic Artist Intern, scheduling paint calls, maintaining the paint shop inventory and supplies, and keeping shop areas clean and organized. Experience with sculpting/carving a plus, but must have the ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in high places. Ideal candidate would have a valid driver’s license and vehicle.



The Scenic Charge reports directly to the Production Manager. Candidates should be self-motivated, have a positive attitude, work safely, efficiently, and quickly and exhibit professional behavior at all times. Strong organizational skills are required with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional non-traditional hours.



Season employment is from May 6 through August 26. Salary and housing included.
