Production Design Manager - Feld Entertainment

Provides management oversight of artistic operation within Feld Entertainment's scenic shop working laterally with Studio Production Manager to move projects through the shop efficiently and within budget. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the scenic design through all phases of construction. Must be able to work with frequent changes that occur during a project build.



Essential Job Functions



•Management oversight for artistic crew working in scenic shop.

•Provide artistic recommendations that furthers the artistic vision of the Scenic Designer and is compatible with the budget realities and life cycle of a touring environment.

•Serve as artistic liaison between the projects creative team and scenic shop personnel.

•Communicate to shop personnel the creative vision intent of the Project Designer.

•Provide instructions with clarity to persons in various levels of the organization.

•Hand sketch in isometric and 3D for crew personnel to realize intent; Pencil sketch story boards for concept approval.



Job Requirements



•Bachelor’s degree in Art and Design preferred.

•5+ years work experience with scenic company or 3D design related field, preferably theatre.

•2+ years of supervisory experience in scene shop.

•Extensive Photoshop drawing experience and or similar programs.

•Must have strong skills in artistic drawing and wide variety of scenic painting techniques to satisfy production requirement and the creative requirement of the Designer.

•Strong communication skills.

•Must be able to travel extensively as required and work nontraditional schedule that includes evenings and weekends to meet production deadlines and rehearsal needs.
