The Apollo theater is the largest culturally specific theater in New York City, and its mission statement is: the Apollo theater is a commissioner and presenter; catalyst for new artists, audiences, and creative workforce; and partner in the projection of the African American

narrative and its role in the development of American and global culture.

Position Summary: The Apollo Theater seeks a dynamic and creative Facility Sales Associate to assist and work closely with the Director of Facility Sales to increase venue rentals and provide world class service to our world-class rental clients.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



Marketing:

• Provide administrative support for Facility Rentals Marketing including photo and logo collection

• Liaise between Theater and rental clients including: relaying marketing policies to client; receiving,

• tracking and submitting Marquee, plasma and website information to Marketing for review/approval

• Ensure that all marketing collateral for rental clients has been reviewed by Marketing Department

• troubleshoot with rental client when necessary

• Gather upcoming show information and work closely with the Apollo Box Office team to execute client

• ticket set-ups

• Manage the administration (booking, billing) for tours and other specific tourist related properties

• Understand and know how to personalize the Apollo Brand for each unique client

• Other duties as assigned



Sales:

• Increase sales for a series of Apollo Theater live entertainment and venue rental products

• Target and convert new clients through the creation and implementation of sales campaigns

• Report on key success metrics including conversion, close and new inquiry rates

• Ensure sales campaigns are implemented on time

• Administer follow-up sales documentation to clients and internal Apollo departments

• Work in collaboration with the Marketing and PR team to execute the creation of marketing

plans, assets and collateral to support client goals and initiatives

• Host new business prospects at special evening Apollo concerts, tours and events

• Travel to conduct sales missions domestically and internationally (10%)

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor degree in Marketing, Advertising, Hospitality or related field is preferred. Relevant experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.

• 3-5 years of related field experience a plus

• Appreciation for the Apollo Theater mission

• Previous business to business sales success is essential

• Strong interpersonal skills
