Early Childhood Music Teacher - Music Conservatory of Westchester

Early Childhood Music Teacher: The Music Conservatory of Westchester, a large and acclaimed community music school in White Plains, New York, seeks an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and playful teacher for the Conservatory?s early childhood ?First Notes? classes. Organized into three age levels, First Notes introduces young children ages three months to four years and their parents/caregivers to basic concepts of melody and rhythm through children?s songs and musical games. We are looking for someone with a background in musical theatre, who has basic piano and/or guitar skills, an understanding of approaches for teaching music to very young children, some familiarity with ?Dalcroze? concepts of music and movement, and prior experience working with groups of children. Some knowledge of early childhood development is a plus. Availability on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from Sept. to June during the school year is preferred. Conservatory faculty are hourly adjunct employees.
