Associate Production Manager - Second Stage Theater

ASSOCIATE PRODUCTION MANAGER



Second Stage Theater seeks an Associate Production Manager to join the company during an exciting time of growth. The Associate Production Manager will assist the Production Manager with all elements of production over the theater's three spaces.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:



- Attend all production meetings during pre?production, rehearsals, tech, and preview performances as determined by the Production Manager.

- Work with and set expectations for Designers and Director to achieve the artistic goals of productions while maintaining the budget set by the Production Manager.

- Create technical specifications from design drawings and bid out scenery build packages to shops.

- Bid out lighting and sound rental packages for Broadway and Off?Broadway packages to shops.

- Review and approve all working drawings and equipment lists submitted by shops and Designers.

- Supervise work calls and attend Technical rehearsals as needed. Schedule to be determined by Production Manager.

- Purchase materials for load in, tech, and run of show needs.

- Assist the Production Manager in creating detailed production calendars.

- Assist with hiring of all production crew for load in, strike, and run of show.

- Maintain a safe working environment in the theaters.

- Supervise production needs for all rentals, readings and other events taking place at the theaters.

- Assist with the development and maintenance of a current and accurate equipment inventory.

- Assist Production Manager with tracking capital needs and improvements for production areas.

- Represent the Production Manager during any absence including being first on?call for emergencies.

- Attend all staff meetings and report on production department activity.

- Other duties as assigned by Production Manager or General Manager.

- General computer skills with a solid understanding of MS Excel and CAD drawing. MS Access/Filemaker experience a plus.



Qualifications

- BA/BFA in Theater

- Minimum 4 years experience in Production Management

- Experience with LORT theater and/or Collected Bargaining Agreements

- AutoCAD or VectorWorks knowledge

- Background in multiple areas of technical theater

- Ability to lift 30 lbs
