Artistic Apprenticeship - New York City Children's Theater

NYCCT seeks a part-time Artistic Apprentice for the 2019-20 season. The Artistic Apprentice will work closely with the artistic director, as well as other administrative staff. Their focus will be to support the organization?s producing activities and season planning. They will also be exposed to the work of surrounding departments including marketing, development, and general management.Apprentice responsibilities/areas of exposure will include but are not limited to:o Production assistant duties on our three mainstage shows for the 2018-19 seasono Stage managing workshops, readings, and New York City Children?s Theater?s Middle School Playwriting Competitiono Maintaining the website and social media accounts for our licensing division TYA Show Rights, and managing TYA Show Rights outreach effortso Maintaining cross-promotional partnerships with other nonprofitso Researching potential new source material for future productionso Preparing contracts and scheduling production meetingso General support as needed in the following areas: special events, annual appeals/mailings, membership program, coverage of other children?s theater shows/affiliated artist shows, box office hotline, and front of house coverage during the run of a showQualificationso A love and passion for theater and/or arts-in- educationo Experience or interest in nonprofit managemento Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skillso Proactive, high-energy, and creativeo Computer literacy ?fluency with PC-based Microsoft Office Programso Basic office skillsPreferred but not required:Skills or experience in video editing, Photoshop, Excel or fundraising softwareTime Commitment:September 2019-June 2020 (willing to negotiate a different time schedule for the right candidates)15-20 hours a week, occasional evenings and/or weekends during tech or the run of a production.To apply for the Artistic Apprenticeship, please send resume and cover letter to artistic@nycchildrenstheater.org with ?Artistic Apprentice? as the subject line.
