18-19 Directing Fellows - Asolo Repertory Theatre

Asolo Repertory Theatre in Sarasota, FL (LORT B Mainstage, LORT D Second Stage) seeks applicants for its 2018-2019 season Fellowships as part of its Career Development Program.



Asolo Repertory Theatre’s Career Development Program is designed to provide real world experience to recent college graduates to prepare them for a career in the arts and non-profit sectors. Participants have come to Asolo Rep from as near as our own back yard and as far away as Europe. Training under the guidance of our exceptional staff in a supportive, professional environment, Asolo Rep's Career Development Participants are fully integrated into our team, collaborating with professional staff members for hands-on work experience within their disciplines. In addition to the training and experience participants receive while performing their primary duties, they also have the opportunity to interface with professionals and attend training presentations from other departments of Asolo Rep, giving them a broader exposure to the many different facets of a professional theatre.



Fellowships are full time experiences that include a stipend, housing, and transportation. Applicants should have a master’s degree or equivalent 2-4 years experience in the field for which they are applying or similar applicable experiences. Fellows are vital members of the creative team for the shows they are assigned to.



DIRECTING FELLOWS

DESCRIPTION: Asolo Repertory Theatre seeks two Directing Fellows to serve as assistants to Asolo Rep’s main stage directors for its 2018-19 season productions. The Fellowships begin mid-November 2018 and end in early April 2019. Primary duties include assisting the directors with all day to day rehearsal and performance responsibilities. Other projects include partnering with Stage Management to facilitate understudy rehearsals, and collaborating with other departments on the creation and execution of public discussion events for productions.

REQUIREMENTS: Candidates for the positions must have an MA/MFA in directing or 2-4 years equivalent experience. Asolo Rep actively encourages applications from a broad spectrum of people of diverse backgrounds and ethnicities.
