VTA Presents Magnolia Theatre Company's THE K OF D, AN URBAN LEGEND This Weekend
Victoria Theatre Association presents Magnolia Theatre Company's THE K OF D, AN URBAN LEGEND by Laura Schellhardt, as part of VTA's ImPACt program, this weekend, Oct. 2-4 in the Mathile Theatre of the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center, downtown Dayton. Tickets are on sale now at the Ticket Center Stage Box Office, by calling 937-228-3630, toll-free 888-228-3630, or online at www.ticketcenterstage.com.
THE K OF D, AN URBAN LEGEND is a one-woman show starring Dayton native Annie Pesch follows the legend of Charlotte McGraw, a 12-year-old girl who kissed her dying twin brother on the lips and now everything she kisses from that moment on also dies. Pesch portrays 17 characters throughout the 90 minute play including Charlotte, Charlotte's mother and father, neighbor and a pack of rag-tag kids who take turns speculating on much of Charlotte's story. Set in southwest Ohio, THE K OF D has an eerie feel of a campfire ghost story that purposefully blurs the lines between fact and fiction.
THE K OF D, AN URBAN LEGEND is a regional premiere. Pesch is an established Dayton actress, having been seen most recently in Mame and Family Shots at the Human Race Theatre Company. She is a graduate of Wright State University and has worked in the Chicago and New York markets. Her credits include The Kite Runner, Letters Home (national tour), Fully Committed and has debuted several new works. THE K OF D is being directed by Kimberly Borst, assistant professor of theater at Sinclair Community College. Gina Handy is the founder and artistic director of Magnolia Theatre Company.
Tickets are $20 or $15 for students and military who present a valid ID. Tickets are on sale now at Ticket Center Stage, located in the Wintergarden of the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center, by calling 937-228-3630, toll-free 888-228-3630, or online at ticketcenterstage.com.
